The Junior League of Huntsville Rainbow Rhythm Band has become a well-known and much-loved tradition in the Huntsville community. Known for their colorful overalls, unique instruments, and old-time songs, they perform for schoolchildren, seniors, and other groups in the Huntsville area as an outreach effort of the Junior League. Their high-energy music and bright faces bring happiness to groups who might need a little pick-me-up. Band members also enjoy teaching kids the joys of music while giving them a chance to play the instruments for themselves and join in the fun.
Over the years, the JLH Rainbow Rhythm Band has performed all around town at schools, nursing homes, churches, Santa’s Village, Green Street Market, and Panoply. The Band is also a highlight of the Junior League of Huntsville’s Apple Annie Day every October. While JLH members visit by every elementary school in Huntsville, Madison City, and Madison County to hand-deliver apples, the Band plays their tambourines, spoons, washboards, and other fun instruments for a few area schools.
Be on the lookout for bright overalls and the sounds of washboards and get ready to join in for some toe-tappin’ fun with the Rainbow Rhythm Band!
