We would be honored to have you join us as a member of the Junior League of Huntsville as we work together in promoting healthy, educated families for a better tomorrow.

Membership in the Junior League is open to all women who are at least 23 years of age and who possess an interest in voluntarism, a commitment to community service and an interest in developing their potential as a community volunteer. The Junior League reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins.



Criteria for Membership

The bylaws of the Junior League of Huntsville specify three criteria for membership:

  1. Interest: A candidate for Provisional membership shall possess an interest in voluntarism, a commitment to community service and an interest in developing her potential as a community volunteer.
  2. Age: A candidate for Provisional membership must be at least twenty-three (23) years of age at the beginning of her Provisional Course Year. (August)
  3. Residency: A candidate must reside in Madison County or Madison City and shall have been a resident of either for at least one (1) year prior to the beginning of her provisional course year. (August)



How to Join

If you are interested in joining the Junior League of Huntsville, please review the criteria for membership, then fill out and submit the Application for Membership form online.  If you know someone in the Junior League of Huntsville who would like to sponsor you, ask them to download the Sponsorship packet available in the Member's Area. 

If you don't have a sponsor, no problem! Just check the Membership Council option on the application and we'll arrange for a sponsor for you.

Applications are currently being accepted throughout the year. However, the next provisional class will not begin until April of 2014. 


First Year Requirements


There is no deliberative process in the admissions system. All prospective members participate in an informed admissions process. The JLH Board accepts into Provisional membership all candidates who have completed the informed admissions process and meet the eligibility requirements. After completing the New Provisional Member Training, the names of those who have successfully completed the Provisional Course will be submitted to the Board for election to Active membership.
